Many of us have Refrigerators that use propane and or electric 120 volt/12volt DC.
This message is for you to read.
I have a Dometic Refrigerator RM1350 that uses propane as one of the sources.
***** THIS IS NOT FOR RESIDENTIAL REFRIGERATOR!!!!!!!*****
I have a friend who is full timing in a diesel pusher and was parked in Mesa Arizona for the winter and was using propane for his refrigerator as primary source of cooling. He did not switch to electric while parked for the long period of time.
He never cleaned the exhaust duct area where the flame was and this is what happened to his motorhome.
I have attached 1 page of my owners manual to show what you need to do if you use the propane a lot.
My friends issue was the flame adjustment was not a blue flame but orange flame that build up a large amount of soot/carbon in the exhaust stack and caught on fire.
Here is the aftermath. Total loss but no one was hurt.
Notice the exterior refrigerator compartment where the fire started and moved up and into the rig.
So I would suggest if you use propane a lot to follow the directions in your manual to inspect, clean and adjust your propane flame and exhaust pipe.
I have here also a generic YouTube video of what things should look like.
