Santa bought me a dash cover

Hi All
Well it looks like I was a good boy this year and Santa sent me a dash cover from California. The funny part I still got the bill for it?

Well I have been looking for a good one for a few years and found online Shade Pro in El Cajon California. They have a list of motorhomes dash covers they have done already and maintain the templates.
ShadePro Inc.: Dash Covers

They didn't show 2012 so they sent me in the mail two paper templates already cut at no cost to me. It was one for the 2013 and one for 2008.

It seems the 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014 and probably the 2015 dashes are identical shape and size. Can't say about any earlier years.

Well I received it and it was much better than I expected.
Great quality and perfectly matched to dash. I got the tan color.
The backing is not that thin foam as you get in other dash covers but a more solid foam that won't slip and slide.

I suspect it may even deaden road noise and air coming from the front of the hood and engine area. I haven't had it on the road nor any pictures but will take some on my next trip.

OK the cost was $273 that included free shipping but I did have to pay tax.
They also show up at many rallies around the country.

Maybe someone can invite them to the FROG Rally in Goshen?

Here is their 2015 list
January 5-11, 2015 27th Annual FMCA Western Area Rally Indio, CA

January 16-25, 2015 Tyson Wells Sell-A-Rama Quartzsite, AZ

February 9-14, 2015 FMCA Southeast Area Rally Sarasota, FL

February 23-March 1, 2015 The Rally from Camping World and Good Sam Phoenix, AZ

March 6-13, 2015 55th Escapade Tuscon, AZ

March 23-29, 2015 FMCA 91st Family Reunion and Motorhome Showcase Pomona, CA

April 16-18, 2015 Southern California Good Sam Samboree Hemet, CA

April 28-May 3, 2015 Northern California Good Sam Samboree Lodi, CA

June 23-28, 2015 FMCA Northwest Area Rally North Bend, OR

July 2015 Monaco International Rally Wisconsin

July 26-August 1, 2015 FMCA 92nd Family Reunion and Motorhome Showcase Madison, WI

Here are a few shots from my cell phone of the custom dash cover.
The two humps are stitched together and is part of the whole cover.
The defrost vents because they may be in a different location on each motorhome they made two covers of the vents separate with a wide amount of material. Then the large dash cover goes over those two small defrost sections.
I think overall quality is great and the backing as I mentioned before is quality heavy back that will not slide. I have not used any Velcro and the cover sits nice and snug in place.

The pictures really don't do justice to the dash cover. The edges are nicely stitched and fits perfectly.

Maybe next time I will bring my real camera and get closer more detailed shots.

Iggy, we have that same dash cover. Same color. They are really nice. We got it right after we bought our MH since our dogs sometimes jump up on the dash to see outside. I was surprised at how heavy and thick those things are. The fit is really nice and they don't slide or bunch up as I have seen some thinner ones do.
I think you will be really happy with it.

Did you get it from the same company? I did notice a remark that someone left on their website.
I think it is worthwhile add-on.

I did get it from the same company but I didn't leave any comments on their website. I should have though, as pleased as we have been with it.
Have to admit I was leary about spending that much on something I had not seen in person.
I believe it is a worthwhile add-on. That was the second thing we added right after the Progressive Industries PT50C Surge Protector

Great idea Iggy! After reading the posts, my concern was it heavy enough to prevent our 2 Shelties from slipping off the dash. They are always looking out the window at campsites.
Will order one and tell the company to send you a commission check.

Its weight, the thickness and density of the rubber nonslip backing will prevent it from moving. I have a small poodle that loves going up there also and she has not had any slipping or movement of the dash cover.
Actually she feel more secure jumping up there now and no way can damage the original dash.
Worth it.
