Satellite dish
What's up guys? I'm a newbie and just bought a 2013 352qs. I'm looking at buying a dish for the roof. I have directv service and was thinking about buying the inmotion or the collapsible. I was wondering which one you guys would buy, and if you have any experience with either one. Thanks for all your help

I have a VuQube (now called Tail Gater) and DirecTV. Never had any problems, set-up is a couple of minutes. The downside to mounted units is trees in the campground. If it is mounted, you may not get a signal.
With the portables and 50' of coax, you always get a signal. Our 5th wheel is wired for a roof mount, but I prefer my portable. I have several friends with fixed units and I watch DirecTV at all campgrounds and they watch the one or two channels they can get on air TV, because they can't get a clear sky shot. Plus the portable versions are considerably less expensive than the mounted. They have portables that auto track as well, so all you have to do is sit it down and go inside and wait for it to acquire a signal.

We have the Winegard Movin' View and it works fine with the auto-tracking. The newer version has a different name and the profile is shorter. Our unit is connected to a Tivo DVR so we record shows at home and usually watch them when we are camping and there's tree interference. Portables definitely give more flexiblility, some places it makes no difference what type you have due to the extent of the tree coverage. All depends on what you want, we can watch TV as we travel, or I should say, everyone but me can watch TV as we travel. Portable doesn't give you this ability unless you stop and set it up.

I use this setup with my 5ver. Takes me about 5 minutes to setup and get it tuned. It breaks down pretty easy too I just loosen the dish bolts and remove 2 of the mast bolts so the mast lays flat. I put the dish on the floor of the 5ver just inside the door and the frame in the bed of my truck. You can get a H25 HD receiver from Solid signal for $100 it is about as big a paperback book.

Thank you!
I flagged down a direct tv installer and asked him if he had any "dish network" dishes that he took off.
He said how many you want?
I politely took one and tried to pay him .
He wouldn't take a dime.
Then I took an old tri-pod work light stand and mounted it to it.

I have a winegard satellite dish for sale in the classified section. Brand new in box, will make someone a heck of a deal.

After I got the hang of mine it now just takes minutes to get a signal "without" a meter.
I use my android and satellite finder app.
Good luck.

Not sure with direct.
Dish I'd have you covered!
The one app "satellite director" might help you with that.

I have the Winegard crank up and a portable Slimline 3 HD. I only set up the portable if we're staying more than a couple of days.
We have a HD DVR permanently assigned to the MoHo.

I also mounted the receiver over the door way for the bedroom. I made a shelf to mount that on as well. GF loves it.

Go with the Winegard Traveller. Domes are not great.
