Shift indicator

I have a 2008 Georgetown motorhome! Ford chassis! Shift indicator pointer is pointing to low and will not move when I shift gears! Just the indicator doesn’t indicate correctly! Trans works fine! How to repair?

Under the column there is a cable that connects the lever to the indicator in the cluster. Check that it is attached and not broke or disconnected.
Heres a video. It is of a pickup truck I know but yours should be similar. It is @ :58 seconds in on this video. Work the lever (with the engine off) and watch to see if it is moving.

There was a Ford recall for this exact item, the dealer replaced the shirt indicator cable. Yours is probably eligible for this recall.
