Side Marker Out

I have an interesting problem that I have not been able to find a solution for using the search.

My Left Front Side marker is not coming on, subsequently, when I turn the headlights on the cameras turn on the left side camera and I can't change it as long as the lights are on. If I use the right turn signal, the rear view camera comes on.

I tried changing the bulb (194) and it didn't work, I tried using a bulb from the other side of the coach, just incase there was something special about the bulb I was replacing, no luck, I tested the socket with a meter and there is voltage to the light socket (11.5-12.5 volts) when the lights are on.

HELP!

Sometimes when the lights act weird like that it may be a bad ground in that light socket.. At least that was usually the problem when I was a mechanic

Ground is more difficult to test, but I'd bet big money that's the culprit. Look for a corroded, loose, or painted ring terminal attached to the frame somewhere near the marker fixture. For verification, you can run a wire from a known good grounding point...

So,

After troubleshooting and finding the ground that controls the front lights (Side markers, and front park lights), Cleaning the contact and making sure there was a good ground to the chassis, I still couldn't get the left front side maker to work. So I decided to see if it would work while the turn signal was engaged.

That's when I saw it!!!!!

the left front turn signal wasn't blinking. Could it be that simple????

I removed the bulb from the housing and as soon as I pulled it out it started blinking (it was loose in the socket). when it started blinking so did the Side marker

When I turned the blinkers off, the side marker lit up as it should, and the cameras worked accordingly.

Simple solution for a confusing problem.

Make sure you have the lens on correctly. It will fit both ways but only the right way will snap in place.
