Simple Mods

I saw a thread somewhere that someone was asking what mods we had made on our Georgetowns. I don't seem to be able to find it so here are my mods.

The first night in our used GT was at 5 degrees F. There was a cold draft on our heads from the bedroom window. So DW made a padded thingy attached at the top with velcro and stuffed under the mattress. (pic)

I didn't like the 4" short bed so I got a 4" piece of soft foam and tucked it in front of the mattresss. Fits inside the st'd queen sheet and the wardrobe slide has no problem compressing it.

Then, I made 12" square blocks to support the jacks. Have handles so I can position and retrieve with awning pole. Sandwiched 2x6's between 1/2" plywood. Keeps the jacks out of the sand and reduces jack travel. (pic)

I also turned the shower handles around so my pudgy fingers can get a grip easier. 20 mins tops, all finger tight fittings.

Didn't like the right leaning drivers seat so I loosened the 2 right bolts and added a couple of wood shims to level it. Works great...

We recovered the dinette seats with "Sea Ray" marine vinyl so we could slide across them easier.

I permanently attached the dinette table to the wall and strengthened it so it wouldn't wobble and is now level.

Thanks for the updates. Have any pics of the leaning seat fix. Mine is driving me nuts. Just looking for more detail on how you accomplished this. Any info would help. Thx.

I too had the seat leaning to the right on my 2012 378 & had the dealer remove the seat & add a washer. It was under warranty so no charge. Seems to have helped. Leaving tomorrow for 10 days out so will know better after the trip.

Anyone have a problem with the arm not staying up? Hit a nice bump on the road and the table drops. 2013 350xl.

The shims are simply wood pieces cut from a piece of 2x4 with a utility knife. If I did it over, I would make them a tad thicker. The pic below is with the skirting lifted up. The right is the front... Note it's not a power seat.

Also, forgot to mention that I copied a mod where someone added a valve to the fresh water overflow to prevent sloshing out. That works too.
