Slide Awning Bouncing while driving

I have a 2013 351DS. The large slide is behind the driver. The slide awning bounces and rattles while driving down the road. Is there any way to tighten it down a bit?

My thought was to loosen the two screws on the arm mounted to the slide and push it tighter and then retighten the screws. Will this work or is their a better option?

If it were me, I would slide the bracket to the left to remove the flex in the aluminum hex shaft and cover the old holes with an alum plate after caulking.
