Slide out Georgetown 270ssf
Will not go out , motor seems to be working. I have 7 year extended warranty. Does not look like it’s covered. Any suggestions?

More info is needed to help you..
What year is your GT?
How many slides?
What brand of slide?
Cable/electric or hydraulic?

We have the same motorhome 2015 270 and had the gear on the slide motor fail early on. Made a grinding sound when we tried to move the slide. Repaired under warranty.

Same story on a 2016. The motor is ON TOP of the slide. Does anyone know if these things can be manually retracted? With skinny cables running on the outside and a giant bicycle chain looking thing on the inside it certainly doesn't look like and other slide operating system we have ever experienced.

There is a part that you should have that attaches to fitting on top allowing manual turn to move slide.

One of the few things FR did not forget to include when I purchased it new. If I get a chance, I'll take a pic. You can call FR and have tehm send you one.

The only tool that was in the coach looks like a large nut wrench, but kinda flimsy. I figured it was to take the wheel covers off. It also fits the anode rod "good enuf" to use there.

Here's the pic you were waiting for. It is apx 12" long has a flexible shaft and 1/4" male and female hex "socket" ends. I think the male end goes into the slide fitting and the female end fits into a 1/4 socket drive - adapter probably for cordless drill or manual turning. 'hope this helps you fellow 270sers

Depending on what gear is out, using the manual tool may or may not move the slide. I've never had to use it on mine, but I have messed around with different gear boxes in sides and pop ups. It's usually the motor gear that goes bad. If you know how to measure gears, it's much cheaper to replace a single gear for $5.00 than to buy the motor/gearbox combo for around $400. That's what the dealer wanted for the last one I had messed with on a pop up.

That's because most in the RV industry don't know anything. Not talking about the users, that is not their job, the "professionals" - big LOL there.

OMG! I found TWO of those things in my unit. Thought they were extensions used in the build to get to hard to reach screws, which they fit perfectly! I nearly wore one of them out when I tore out the U-shaped dinette bench. Now I will have to see if I still have one of them around. Think nephew took at least one to use on the square drive screws in his 5-er.
