Slides leaking
I have a 2017 Georgetown XL 378. A couple of months ago I lifted a plastic file of maps we keep on the floor next to the couch. The bottom seamed damp but the rug felt dry. I assumed it was caused by condensation from the uninsulated floor underneath. I placed the dehumidifier in the corner and everything seamed to be ok.
We are spending Feb in Florida. After the first couple of nights, we had several frog strangler rain storms. Afterward I discovered the rug beside the couch was soaking wet.
There was no signs of water on the walls on in the overhead compartments. The rug seamed to be wettest in the front, exterior corner.
I pealed the carpet back to expose the wet flooring underneath. Using a hair dryer and the dehumidifier again, I spent several days throughly drying everything and put it back together.
Can water run down the inside of the wall to the wood floor. I've seen no sign of water on the inside walls. I've looked at the exterior roof seams and they look the same as other seams that don't leak. I did notice the large puddle of water in the slide topper was slowly leaking through to the top of the slide. I guess they aren't waterproof.
Has anyone dealt with this problem before? We are expecting another big rainstorm tonight and will be pulling the slide in to be on the safe side.

some folks take a beach ball or something like that and place it on the roof of the slide to hold the topper up so it doesn't puddle.

I also have a 378. Even though I don't have a leaks, one way I can imagine water getting in is running down where the seal is an migrating around the corner to the wood floor. It would not show up on the inside of the slide because the slide slants outward. Please let us know when you do find the problem.

That,s a good thought Wrapperman. I can see how the water could run right down to the wood floor. I'll look closer at it after it stops raining.

That was wierd. The bove photos go with this post
..
I finally fixed a similar leak. Turns out my slide was too tight. When it was in, the team made the slide itself flex, creating an opening g in the sealant, not visible when the slide was out. I loosened the outside adjustment nut a turn or two aand ran the slides in/out watching for the flex- obvoius at the outside lower moulding of the slide. Then resealed the top with Dicor self leveling sealant and all the rest of the joints with clear regular Dicor.

Thank you. I knew there would be somebody out there who had a similar leak. Can you tell me how the Dicor is holding up to repeated openings and closings.

Only did the fix recently. Too soon to tell, but it IS the right product. When cleaning the top of the slide, a bunch of the original caulk came out - was wet and black so I knew I was at the right place. BTW had to remove the topper from the slide and lay it back on the roof to get access to the slide.

360 hi, can you take more pics of where your leak was. Even though I told you I didn't have a leak, I just noticed one. It must be run down the inside of the slide wall and outer wall. It looks like I will need to replace those 2 wall boards now. Bummer. I am PMing you now as well.

My leak is no longer. From the outside, I removed the topper and laid out back on the took. Then I used a knife ( always in my pocket) and scraped off the edges on the top of the slide. At the forward corner, I discovered a soft area. Removing the existing caulk, I pulled out a bunch black area
Then used self-leveling doctor and redid all seams on the top of the slide. It worked!

I'll check that out. I think i know what you mean but a pic would also help. Do you think that would be possible. We are still camping in hot springs till next Tuesday and it's suppose to rain till Sunday they say.
Thanks a bunch and for the quick response. That's a good place to start.

Here is a photo of the top of the slide (with several months of dirt). There is an excellent video by RVGeeks on how to remove topper awning. Then scrape down any loose caulking and apply Dicor self-leveling adhesive on all joints. Don't try to make it pretty. The self-leveling means if it finds a crevice, it will flow and seal. Go for it!

Many thanks 360 for the pics. Pictures always speaks a thousand words.
This is my next weeks project when I get home.
I'll also look for the video. [emoji106]
I forgot to tell you we have the same paint color as yours. Nice paint job.
