Sloppy sewer hose fit?
When using the sewer hose to dump the connection is loose fitting and leaks out on the ground, the cap is also very loose. Has anybody had this problem?

No, no problems at all. It could be your sewer hose. Sewer hose is something you don't want to skimp on.

Suspect the rubber gasket is missing on the hose connection to the camper.

It's a new hose supplied by the dealer when we purchased the RV last week, I suspected it was the male end on the motorhome since the cap also fits really loose and sloppy.

Can you post a picture. IIRC, there is nothing on the male end besides the PVC nipples. The seal is on the cap and hose itself. BTW, that hose that the dealer gave you is not very good. Get you a good hose like the Rhino or similar.

Oldcoot was right, just went up and checked and the rubber gasket to the cap is missing and the cheap dealer supplied hose is supposed to be for a tapered connection like our Jayco had. Went to Walmart and bought a nice Camco hose and a new cap and everything now fits nice and tight.
Thanks again everybody for the help.

OK...so here is ONE area for me when nothing but the best will do!! LOL...Those of you who have been through a few hoses... what would you buy next time?
Do I need 15 or 20 feet? Any special end fittings you really like? Do I need the slinky stand or just lay the hose down?

I bought a 15 foot Rhino and a 10 foot extension at Walmart.
The 10 footer is still new in the box.
Got one of those "free" blue ones that is still new in the plastic bag.
I would have no problem buying another Rhino but I do not think that will be necessary.

I've gotten 5 years of use out of my Rhino so far. Also have an extension I've never used!

Thanks guys....looks like it is Rhino...they have Extreme and Flex lines... I understand that the Extreme is good for temperature extremes and getting run over etc. ... probably due to poly springs rather than steel....but the Flex commercial says it is the thickest hose. I'm leaning to the Extreme unless someone tells me to go with the Flex.

I just noticed that I forgot to add about the slinky stand.
I have one so I use it, if I can I will tuck the water hose and power cord under it to keep things neat.
I am in a KOA right now and the rules say you need to keep the slinky off the ground.
I guess it is one of those deals when you need to decide if it is a necessity.

I have a 15' Rhino, 2 10' extensions just in case and the Slinky.
I have the dealer supplied hose which is still unused in the bag, if anyone needs a free hose come and get it .

Another vote for Rhino hose. Over two years of fulltime use with no problems.

Good move. Dealers always skimp on sewer connections The Camco Rhinoflex is the best out there. Several other "Attachments" you can get for your Rhinoflex as well. If you are a Amazon Prime member, check them out - prices better than WalMart & Amazon has just about everything you would need in RV accessories!

Ford - did you mean keep the sewer hose off the ground? If you DO mean the slinky, please post picts of your levitation magic
Back on task...
Yes, a Slinky is a great addition (and if you do the fencepost mod with the gutter support slide out the gutter support fits nicely on the slinky and adds a lot of stability!

Rhino! Rhino! Rhino! Rhino!
Did I mention Rhino?
We always use a slinky, I have seen hoses just laying across the ground....some camp sewer connections I have seen and used are up off the surface 2" to 3" rather not have any 'build up' at the connection.

That is certainly NOT a correct statement. I'm lucky to make 25%.
