Sofa removal

I have a 2008 GT 350ts, And we want to replace the sofa with one we found at Costco. How much trouble is it to remove the sofa, and do you have to take it apart to get it out?

I took mine apart. Some of the bolts and screws were a little hard to access.

I just took my hide a bed sofa out and was real easy (thanks to Iggy). The back should just lift off. Then there were 2 screws that I removed in the middle of the frame and then loosened the other 4 and then the bed portion came out. Then all 3 pieces fit out the door. Did the reassembly outside. All of 15 minutes from start to finish. Hope this helps..

I just did the same thing this weekend with our couch/bed. Iggy was a great help with how to remove it. We bought two easy boy chairs in place of the couch with the back coming off.

Dutch,

My wife wants to replace the sofa bed in our Georgetown with two Lazy Boy or similar chairs. The sofa has only been used as a bed once and I hate to just throw it away, but may have to. Did you figure out a way to restrain your two chairs while vehicle is in motion?

Thanks
John

Thanks for your response and pictures. The chairs sound and look great. I'll bet it was a lot of fun getting them into your MH through the door.

Replaced mine yesterday. The back lifted right off of the sofa. I had the delivery service assemble the new double recliner after it was brought inside. Very easy process.

I removed the couch from ours, very easy. Unscrewed from slide floor, and took out the door. Had to remove some bolts from the bottom of the couch and take off some metal braces.

Replaced with a full size Lazy Boy Couch with double recliners and a folding armrest. Still had room on one end for a small ottoman. The backs come off the couch, and the guys at the warehouse put it inside and put the backs on. I then used some screws to attach the brackets on the bottom of the couch to the slide floor.

Should have done this two years before we did, hated that phony couch that it came with!
