Spare Tire

Have a 2012 378 & we will be taking a 5,000+ mile trip next year. Would like to have a spare with me but can't figure out where to put it. Any ideas?

I have seen spare tires mounts that attaché to the trailer hitch in back.
I have no ide where or who sells them but I noticed one on a motorhome at a campground.

I thought about a spare,

Then thought about the BIG jack, BIG tools and a BIG friendly passer by to help me do the swap.

Roadside service and a cell phone/booster hopefully will never be needed.

Roadside assistance can mount it but sometimes you can't find the tire itself so best to have one especially in remote areas

I thought about it once but like the salesmen says you won't be able to get the tire off or mount it, most of the roadside assistance individuals, will bring one with them just tell the advisor the size tire you have. The will dispatch someone for a BIG RIG to change your tire. The spare tire carrier looks nice but at that cost, i'm out. Let it include the tire then maybe.

We have a 2004 GT with a spare mounted under the back. The orinal sticker is still on it. I am thinking that you may not really need to carry that extra weight for the reasons mentioned above.

I had the same thoughts, we have a Toy Hauler which made this easy. I went to a junk yard and found a spare tire mount on a van. This was $20 Bucks . I took it to a friend that has a sand blaster he let me use to take all the old paint and rust off (free) . I went to the hardware store and bought some longer bolts drilled the holes in the rear ramp door and mounted the tire holder. then the tire . went on ebay and bought a spare tire cover for ten bucks and Done . Frees up space and if needed I can get it off the rear ramp door.

Our 2005 has the same spare setup. The mounting bolt gets bent every time I bottom out on the rear and I have considered deep sixing it since I am sure a roadside service guy could probably not get it off anyway and I am carrying the extra weight at the extreme aft part of the coach. Think how much more beer I could hold with that weight gone...

We bought our '02 GT325 from the original owners. It has a complete spare wheel, with tire, attached with a chain and located directly beneath the propane tank.

If you have a twin axle on your trailer , there is a good chance you do not need the jack if not a bottle jack is not that much of a space grabber.
A truckers trick , With two axles if you have some 4x4 for setting up in some camp spots you get a flat you can drive the good axle (non Flat) up on these and it will raise the flat tire off the ground so you can change the tire. I have done this in the medium of interstate 81 took me 20 mins and the flat was changed.
