Because much of the water comes from the a/c units, and that we're stationary for the next month or so.... I did the following.

Cut a water bottle lengthwise.
Attached a 6' length of old garden hose to the bottle with duct tape.
Stuffed the bottle under the drip hole on the ac unit.
Draped other end of house over side.
Now the water drips off the side, and not on the roof.

Now if I could only figure out how to drain it after it rains!
Thanks for that idea. It will definitely help. Please let me know if you come up with any other ideas, especially for the rain.

I still might use Eternabond. Still researching it.

We found a 4' piece of "C channel" aluminum at lowes, the piece is about 4 feet by 1/2 inch by 1/2 inch, just a guess). We used the eternabond tape to cloe up one end, and put that end under the drip if the A/C unit, and ran it to the edge of the roof. Then took a 2' strip of eternabond on each side of the channel, attaching it to the channel side wall and to the roof. Then took a 3.5 foot section of eternabond and went over the top of the entire thing, from roof, up the side of the channel, across the chennel opening, down the side wall of the channel, and then onto the roof. Used a ruber roller to really get it on there good and push out any air bubbles, and its been good for 2 years.

The piece is similar to this:
