OMG. If it was that simple . We are heading back to the motor home on the weekend and even before we unpack I am going to try the switch .

Did you fix the stairs? If not look under you stairs. Take the cover off you will see you batterys. There is a control box on the back wall it has fuses in it
The staire fuse is in there. The switch i was talking about is on the left just when you enter the couch when you turn that switch off it should light telling you the stairs are out andp locked. That what happens on my 2009

I was following this thread because I had the same problem. In my case, I suspected a fuse because I was working behind the switch panel next to the stairs installing a new circuit and the wires for the step switch came off. When I went to reinstall them I got a spark. I finally located the 5amp fuse under the step, blew a couple more until I got the writes right, problem solved. The only clue I had as to which fuse was that I knew the wire at the switch was white -- got the correct fuse on the first try.
