The step motion off while you are camped is great. No annoying in and out whenever the door opens. I also use a step support pylon to relieve pressure on the steps as we go in and out. Keeps them firm and takes any stress off the stair mechanism. Just remember to take it out before you start the engine or change the switch.
I use a battery cut off switch to be sure all drain is off. Its a simple switch on the house battery terminal and then I know I'll have power when I'm headed out. The regular switch by the door left LP sensor on and also left radio under power. That's just enough to kill off the battery in about 3 weeks. So I shut down the rig, close the doors, steps retract, I lock up and then cut off the batteries.
