Tainted water tank

Our '14 351DS had a tank full of water that didn't get emptied after last trip. When hubby opened filter it was gross. We emptied tank, but now I'm worried about what is growing in there. I remember reading about chlorox in the tank. Can anyone tell me the ratio, as well as how we get the Clorox in the tank? Should we replace the filters in the fridge ice maker and water also? Thanks so much.

From what I read on here and I do this a couple of times a year is 1/3 cup of bleach to 15 gallons of water. I have a 66 gallon fresh water tank so I use about a cup for mine. I just pour it in my hose that I fill my water tank with then hook it up and fill the tank. I open the faucets until I can smell the bleach then shut them off. I let it set a few hours then drain tank and refill with water run faucets again then drain tank again.

I use about a cup per 15 gallons or so. This may over do it some, as some say as little as 1/4 cup per 15 gallons. Mix bleach with a gallon if water and add to tank using a funnel. Add more water to tank as you normally would. Turn on pump and open faucets until you smell bleach and let sit for a couple hours. If you can drive around a bit the water in tank will slosh around and coat walls and top. Drain you tank, fill with fresh water and run faucets. Rinse tank a couple times, then hook up city water line and run through the faucets until clean

It is suggested you let it sit over night to 24 hours.

After that refill the tank and drain till you can no longer smell the bleach.

Be sure to run a few gallons of water/bleach thru every water faucet include the outside shower if you have one and the low point drains.

If you use RV antifreeze to winterize this is a good way to flush it out.

I have read that you should do both the cold and hot water (water heater included) systems. What will the bleach do to the anode rod, or should you remove it before sanitizing the system?

We have stayed at a few CG's that have what we call sulfer water. Nothing wrong with it, it just tastes different and smells bad. Longer it sits the worse it smells. We just have to flush the system with fresh water when we get home.
Just wondering if possibly you got something like that in your tank.
