In Texas by the right officer, it will buy you a ticket also. Trust me, I'm telling this by EXPERIENCE! Live on the edge and don't put license plate on the front, BUT ..... just put the thing on!

I also zip tied mine, but found that the ties will eventually break (fortunately only one at a time). I now use a "No hole front license plate bracket" by Skene Design. The holes are drilled under top lip of grill. It is a little expensive, but really looks good and fairly easy to install.

Fixit ticket. Chances are good you will never be stopped. If you are show them the plate and tell them you are waiting for the mounting bracket to arrive.

And would telling them you're waiting for the bracket to arrive when in fact you never ordered a bracket - wouldn't that be a little white lie as we were taught in Sunday school?

Ours came with the bracket from Forest River it may be that it is part of the Canadian regulations the same as daytime running lights. I'm sure the bracket is available from Forest River and the dealer should have put it on if it is needed in the State where it was first sold.

I bought a plastic chrome looking lic plate bracket and mounted it on the front grill. It came with bolts and nuts and I just used washers to hold it in place. !6,000 miles later, no issues.

It will here in Texas as well. Just another reason for them to pull you over. Especially if you are along the border. Big Rig means you might be carrying something they would not approve of.

To tell you how sensitive they can be down here, while driving in my Escape I was pulled over. After looking in the back of my car windows carefully the excuse he came up with was I had my handicapped placard hanging in the window. Everyone down here drives with it in their window.

I suspended it under the front facia using a simple "L" bracket with lock nuts. Looks good, doesn't require holes where you can see them and doesn't interfere with airflow through the grill. Yes, they're high enough (12") to keep from scraping the ground.
