The 351 & 364 Squeaks & Creaks remediation thread

I just came back from an 8 hour round trip with my new 364. I understand the shake, rattle, and roll but what really sets me on edge are the creaks and squeaks.

I am starting this thread with the unrealistic hope that we can catalog squeaks and the fix. I included the 351 because it is essentially the same floor plan with one less bathroom.

Source: Passengers side window
Sound: Constant creaking
Test: Tried with window open or closed, no difference.
Solution: None found

If anyone can help, please jump in with solutions!

Oh man... I do not look forward to this. Squeaks and creaks in my car drive me crazy and I'm sure it's going to be worse in the MH. My wife says I'm just going to have to learn to lighten up and ignore them. Ugh.

My wife says I never learn, hence this thread.

Seriously, I'm ok with the squeeks and rattles when I hit bad roads but constant squeeking on good roads is very stressful.

I can live with noises.. They just are part of the deal.. Just turn up the radio.. What bugs me is a grand kid that wont keep his seat belt on and has to move around all the time..

I can live with most squeaks however the one coming from our Furrion microwave/convection oven is awful. I want to stab my eardrums it is so bad. The problem is the noise is high pitched, loud, and constant regardless of road condition.

If anyone has any tips to reduce this squeak I would be so thankful!

One of the few benefits of old age is that at 74 I don't hear the squeaks or creeks. Also can't hear the wife complain haha.

My infuriating squeek also sounds like it's coming from the passenger window as well--also on rather smooth roads. Maybe it's the microwave, but not sure. It sounds like a mouse stuck in a sticky trap. My wife's hearing isn't as good as mine so it's mostly my problem. I also have the overhead bunk--maybe it's in there somewhere. Maybe I should get a cat.

If you can find the squeaky area there is a spray Teflon that does well on plastic and rubber. It is a dry powder in a spray can. I used it years ago in automotive applications. So depending on what and where find an issue, it might help.

Did you get an alignment? After I got an alignment, most noise went away.

FR will reimburse if within 90 days of purchase.

Yes and it even tracks straight since I drove with the tanks full and the tires wore in.

My issue in the windows by the drivers seat. What makes it worse is I identified the problem and took it to warranty. They say they fixed it and after about 5 hours I am ready to stop and jump from a bridge.. I found closing the windows by the driver and passenger with some tissue paper stops it. I am thinking of getting the self adhesive felt that you get for your sliding glass doors and putting it in the track of the window. I will let you know how it goes! Happy hunting!

Boy, if anyone has ideas for cutting back on the rattle from the table
I'm all ears.

I generally ride with the table banked down like a bed. In the upright
position, the rattling is off the charts.

My upper pax side cabinet above the dash clicks open and close on bumpy roads. Gotta find felt dots for chair feet to dampen the sound.

I have same issue. Sounds like friction between microwave and "styrofoam" sqeeking It wasn't t there from the get go but at Abt 10K miles it started I would think the support screws/bracket need tighten. I' not yet approached the problem to resolve Will inform when resolved

How do you go about getting FR to remberse you?

I often pull the side shades down to the top of the side mirrors when the sun is coming on on one side or the other, there was a very thin piece of felt tape that did absolutely nothing for the banging that would occur, a well place thicker felt button at each end where it bangs the window frame worked like a charm. I do like the idea of running a thin strip of felt tape inside the window track, we often have some noise coming from the driver or passenger window, my wife did the tissue paper trick and that help as a temp fix.

My biggest problem is with the squeaks and noises from the passenger seat, and found that the best way to deal with it is while traveling and boondocking in the ye olde Wallyworld Campgrounds I get up at zero dark thirty, usually about 4am pull in the slides, have the child in the top bunk get in bed with mom and hit the road. With careful driving (staying off the rumble strips and potholes) I can get 4 maybe 5 hours down the road before the pesky squeaking starts for the day... I might try the teflon spray trick, but really don't think she'll like that much!

You phone and ask. They will authorize it only if you submit the printout from the alignment machine showing it was off enough to justify an alignment.

Mine was dead on, maximum toe in so I got stuck with the alignment check fee. They did the CHF at the same time so I was pretty happy all around.

Modmike, interesting your reimbursement for the alignment was only if it needed adjustment. How in the world would you know it needed adjustment or not until it's on the rack or whatever alignment tool? Mine only required a minor adjustment, sent the receipt to Forest River and got reimbursed, never heard the it has to be out sort of thing.

Granted mine is a few years old, but when I called I was just told to email them the receipt. Not sure on the amount, I believe they would only reimburse up to $350 and you had to call FR before having it done.
