The fuse location for 12 volt behind the vcr?

The switch for my dish (12 volt) broke, I bought a new one at Radio Shack. When installed it ran a few minutes and blue a fuse and I don't know where to look. Thanks for any help. It turns the antenna on and off.

This question has been asked before not sure if anyone answered it.
If it was me I would check all the fuses in the panel located under the dash to the left of the steering wheel. If they are all OK my next step would be to check the 12 volt power distribution center fuses. They are located usually near the coach batteries and you must remove the metal cover on the metal box.
Here is a picture what mine looks like.

If you do find it please let us all know.

Thank and good luck.

When I got my meter to start checking that panel my meter went haywire, not turning out to be a good day. Thanks for the input and will post when I find it. Only 40 deg and rain today in the valley to dang cold to do anything!

does the old switch light up when turned on?

Maybe the new switch is mis-wired?

I know this is a silly one but do you remove your batteries and them reinstall then prior to use?

I saw your other thread about the water heater and hope you get some things resolved for a better trip

I checked the fuses under the dash and by battery's next under the hood. Small box opened easy, but the larger box just wouldn't open today. Decided to give it a rest for today. I remember two years ago looking for a fuse and having trouble opening that box. I think FR should have a electric schematic !

Found the blown fuse! Yup it was the last place I looked. I have the common 12 volt plug in the back of the vcr/dish units. You can not see it it buried. Pulled everything out to check and checked the plug fuse and yup blown fuse! Now all is good! Thanks for the help!

So this is the fuse that powers the TV roof antenna amp and the 12 VDC plug-in.

Yes I use it to power my dish antenna. It is a winegard unit and moves between different satellites when you change channels. Thanks for the help.

If the fuse blew that mean you exceeded the limits of that circuit amps.
So if you use your SAT dish you may need to find a larger Amp circuit.

I have used this set up for 4 years with no problems. The on off switch broke, when I got a new one the hot and ground must have touched. Reworked switch, and new fuse and all is ok. On another note I replaced the high limit switch on my electric water heater. The small switch has caused problems and when I replaced the other day I noticed the limit switch had overheated. It was blowing high limit about once a day. We will see?
