Another one for the foam topper. I don't remember where we got ours, but it's a 3" foam topper and works great for us. But as Ron said, it's a personal thing, and different for everyone. Your results may vary.

Does anyone find the memory foam is hot, and doesn't 'breathe'?

Im happy with our mattress, but was looking at getting a feather bed topper.

We don't find it hot. Last week's 10-day trip had one night in the upper 70's and the rest between 62-72 at night. It was comfy.

We're in a hybrid, though, and sleep with the tent ends open all or part of the way as we like the fresh air. You'll find it different in a TT.

I havent had any problem with it getting to hot but the mattress pad I use over the top of it is a pretty thick cotton pillowtop style.

This is why I was thinking of just getting a feather topper. If I got the memory foam, I would have to buy a thick cotton cover also, which would start getting pricey.

There are other natural filled toppers out there, but they are very expensive

All of the "king" size topper pads are lot's larger then the size of the mattress. Even the queens are too long. Has anyone tried to cut one down to the actual size of their mattress? The last time I tried to cut down a foam pad to fit into a skylight it came out pretty ugly - couldn't get a clean smooth edge

LABZY,
We bought the memory foam topper from Costco. After three hours of sweating we took it off.
Each to his own....that's why the make so many different types and firmness ratings.
