If you didn't have a Motorhome what would you do with all the extra time you have, the extra disposable income you have and where could you ever gain the extra vial language that comes with that ownership? Ain't the life of an RVer great????

"Old Guys", ha, ha. I'm 73 with an RV with less than 14000 on the odometer. I plan on the 1st of March to increase that significantly. We (DW and I) plan to leave here in beautiful Williamsburg Va and travel the eastern seaboard to Florida then across the gulf area into Texas and up through New Mexico to Nevada on onward to Utah and eventually to Montana and back down through Northern California and back home. I figure maybe 5 months.

Wow!! That is some trip. Maybe there is hope for us yet as we are only approaching 68 (both in April). Good luck with your travel and enjoy your time out. If you are still up to it after that it may be a good time to do some travel in Canada with the low Canadian dollar. We would love to see you. I got the "vial" language part down, but since I'm still partially working and have kids in school, I've yet to figure out the joys of traveling. Coming into the office everyday and seeing the GT parked out back makes it tough to not want to get in it and drive south! It's currently covered in a protective layer of Satan's precipitation(snow).

You know mogman after 30 years in the military I amassed quite a vocabulary of "vile" language but after purchasing an RV I have even added to that. Since you are in Hampton Roads if you turn your ear toward James City County you can probably hear me give a blessing to my RV over some little something sometimes.

It is VERY easy to turn the air several shades of blue on the road with a rig.
Sometimes a pothole, sometimes a malfunction of some sort.
Most often an "idjit" doing something STOOPID in front of you like stopping short or pulling out in front of you. Been there- got the ugly t-shirt.

As to the source of the four letter vocabulary - I was on a backpacking trip with my Boy Scout Troop and when we stopped for the night one of the boys asked me about my language, or lack of. He said "Mr H., you're a Sailor, how come you don't talk like a Sailor. I thought for a second and replied that there is a time and a place for such language. Right then and in that setting it was neither the time nor the place. But be assured that if one of them was about to do something extremely stoopid and I could not get their attention in a normal manner or somebody needed a verbal boot in the butt I would sure turn the air blue in a heartbeat. He nodded and went off about his business. One of the other leaders, former Army Artillery officer, commented that I handled that quite well. Well, I be a Machinist's Mate who made his living in Engine Rooms, but I'm definitely not the stereotypical knuckle-dragger.

Yes, Chris, sometimes you are tried at your patients end and its hard to restrain, but in polite company, one must. Just today I was called by the RV shop where I was having some work performed on my rig in preparation for our up coming trip that my MH home was ready for pickup. I was astounded. You can't even see the road at the moment much less be able to drive in it. Heck, I can't even get out of my driveway here in James City County. I just smiled and told them I would be right down there shortly and hung up the phone.
