Thanks everyone for your answers!

Thanks everyone for helping me out with your responses. After watching some youtube videos, I finally took the seal out cleaned it and put it back in carefully trying to get the groove in the seal centered on the plastic rim. It took a couple tries and some swearing ;-) but I got it done and it is holding water now. I think I had dislodged it with a vigorous cleaning so good to know that for the future. I did order a replacement one just in case it happened again and I tear or drop the original into the black tank.

I thought it was interesting that a replacement ball flush seal is $30 and I saw replacement toilets listed at $98. Crazy huh?
