Toshiba TV's

I have 2 Toshiba's in my MH. When watching TV in antenna mode we get a great picture. However, as soon as we turn on the microwave, we lose our picture. Screen shows low signal strength. Guess the mic. Creates some kind of interference. Any solutions?

Is the antenna booster on or off?

Just don't use the microwave. No just kidding, check for a filter to add to your plug. Maybe radio shack or call Crutchfield they may be able to help. You are picking up noise from it.

Might look similar to this.

The black button is the on and off button.

I also have two Toshiba TVs. I'm sitting here watching HD channels and just ran the Micro and have zero issues. Your Micro should never interfere with a TV signal. Check for leaks: 4 Ways to Check a Microwave for Leaks - wikiHow

What does the booster have to do with the problem he is having? He has a great picture so it doesn't matter if the booster is on or off. If the Micro is interfering with the TV signal, there is a bigger problem.

My tv works sometimes GREAT with booster off until a microwave or a/c turns on.
Thats what that has to do with it.

I had the same problem with the cheap Toshiba 40".
It also lost signal when I was on local antenna with boost on etc.
The microwave is one problem and the TV has minimal shielding and yes we glow in the dark when we use the microwave at night. lol

I now have a Samsung TV and I have no issues when using the microwave.

Hello IGGY, Long time no see. You guys must be quite the sight when you are in glow in the dark mode. Don't go anywhere near Rozwell N.M. (or is it Roswell). Wherever that U.F.O. sighting place is. Spelling not my strongpoint.

I'm in it right now watching TV through the antenna. Booster on with 4 out of 5 bars. Turn microwave on and no problems. I turned the booster off and get 2 out of 5 bars...micro on and no problems. I've never had issues with micro interference. IMO, the booster has nothing to do with it. However, if the coax from the antenna is running really close to the microwave, I can see it interfering.

I highly doubt the microwave is leaking 2.4 ghz the frequency of most units. The TV is most likely getting interference on the AC poser line. Both the TV and the Microwave have switching power supplies. The operation of these supplies spread interference through improper filtering on the AC side. The booster certainly can enter into the picture though powered by 12 v gets that from the converter. I have no real solution to the problem other than replacing the microwave, try another one a see if the problem goes away. As far as Toshiba, I have not seen a Dumount, Zenith or Admiral TV lately so that is what we have.

AS I said in an earlier post, check to find a filter to take the noise out of the ac line, your problem will be over.....

If you have HD, you must be on something other antennae if you are watching HD. My problem is antennae mode in both SD and Digital.

Seems like I need and electrical noise filter. Would I install that for the microwave or the TV's?
