Tow/haul fuse????

I'm not showing the tow/haul indicator on my dash. It doesn't matter how many times I push and release the button on the end of the shifter.

I'm not sure if the entire tow/feature has failed or it's just the fuse for it is blown.

Anyone know for sure what/where the fuse is located?

Thanks

Does it light when all the dash lights come on when first cranking the engine? That will indicate if it's just the light or an actual problem.

Trempert..........

Okay.........I just went through the ignition start up and there were no indicators related to the "tow/haul" function.

I must add..........seeing as I can't seem to see an indicator ever when pushing the "tow/haul" button while underway, I'm not even sure where on the dash the display would show up.

Can you tell me what exactly the symbol is and where it's located?

Thanks

The end of the shift lever facing you will have a light in it when tow haul is activated. You can't see it unless tow haul is on.

Not on my 2011 Georgetown. It's on the dash.

The end of the shift lever on my Georgetown does NOT have any indicator lamp on it for tow/haul.

I'm still asking where on the dash display would you see that it is activated, and does anyone know what/where the fuse is located for tow/haul.

Thanks

good chance the switch or wiring to it is bad. VERY small gauge wire and sometimes break apart from shifter movement

Have you checked your Ford owners manual?
We're not at the MH so I can't check it.

It should have a picture of the dash with tow/haul indicator.
It will tell you which fuse to check.

X2
The t/h wires are very thin gauge and break from shifter movement right where shifter pivots .
Easy to replace.
From gm you get a new shifter handle with t/h switch.

It modifies how the engine and transmission interact with each other. It downshifts sooner on the downhill for engine braking and works very well with cruise control. I've observed that when I use it in combination with cruise control that the shifting tends to be one gear at a time without the crazy high (5000) RPMs.

I'm guessing I'm not the only person who did not get a Ford F53 Owners Manual.

I've tried to locate the various fuse locations and their functions, and I have no idea where the tow/haul fuse is.

Anyone?

I was able to download a pdf version of the owners manual for my 2013 Ford F53 from the below website. It looks like most years are available.

According to the manual I downloaded, the tow/haul switch fuse is in the power distribution box in the engine compartment. If you get the manual for your particular year it will show the fuse location.

Go to the website below and click on Owner Information in the left column. This will take you to a page to enter your year and model, which will then take you to a page with pdf links for the owners manual and other documents.

Here is the truth from a FORD document I received from the Goshen Rally.
We had a Ford Vendor that talked about the F-53 bare chassis.

Interesting document, makes it sound like you can use tow/haul most of the time.

The FORD Rep said it is designed to use going down steep hills.
I asked if it does anything going up hills. He said none.

I do not believe it should be turned on all the time driving in the flats.
