Tow haul mode on a 2004 Georgetown XL 359TS

I have been trying to find out if my 2004 has the tow haul mode. I only see an overdrive button on the the endow the shifter. Does anyone know what year it came out in? I can only assume mine is not the year it was available.

Thanks

Roy

That transmission does not have the tow/haul mode. All the button does is turn the overdrive off which is used if the transmission is shifting in and out of overdrive a lot or to keep it in 3rd gear going down a grade. Same transmission in my 2000 F250

I don't think you have tow/haul since it says OD.

Smaller I know, but we tow with an 04 F-250 Super Duty and that button IS OUR TOW HAUL. Pushing it, disables OD and alters shift and down shift to better suit load. On wide open flat interstate I release it and allow OD but otherwise with load it stays pushed in.

Oh and pushing it lights a "TowHaul" light on dash.

Good to know. I will play with it and see. I have only had it on level I5 in Northern Ca. but plan to retire in 8 mos and get a little travel time in. I will experiment with it and get a feel for it.

Thanks for the info!!!

Did you get a Ford chassis owners manual? If not you may be able to find out on line. I think a pickup may be different then an F53 chassis. I could be wrong.

I did not get the chassis manual but you have a good point. i will research on line. Lots of great advice here and I know there are so many variables that come into play. I appreciate the input and direction!

Thanks Iggy, sorry to take so long to respond but my daughter lost one of her twins during birth and we had to make an emergency trip. I appreciate your response and help.
