I tow a 2016 f150 with my 364TS. I have towed with and without blue ox patriot. Very minor if any difference. I prefer towing without it. Newer transmission is great for steep declines and simply driving a little smarter while towing helps.

An emergency stop is a potential situation where it would likely help. If making long trips usually hook it up. Short or local trips I don't bother.

As a mechanic having a vehicle that won't run is a problem. I won't have one that won't stop
