It is OK to disagree, but lets all play nice.

2WD Liberty is rear wheel drive. 4WD Liberty is 2 speed transfer case with neutral. The 4WD difference would be Command Trac case or Select Trac case, which would not affect the ability to tow 4 down. Still would not recommend dolly.

Just check the manual.
Don't believe the blanket statement that all keeps can be flat towed.

There are some that can't.

There's even companies that make drive shaft disconnects.

A Keep Or a Jeep?

To the OP (and any others interested) Motorhome Mag publishes a FREE TOAD issue every year...2016 should be out in a month or so but for now, here is a link to the free download of the 2015 issue:

Mine might have been a HEEP instead of a jeep but it got me home!

Same two throwing garbage around. Never seen a post that they weren't experts on. If they don't know make it up. Sorry to the OP for all the off subject posts. I hope you have your answer.

I must say first that a liberty to be towed all wheels down has to be a 4x4.. Also the Liberty replacement ( 2011 was the last year) is the Patriot and it is all wheel drive so you need a trailer for it.. I really think Jeep made a mistake going to this set up.. Lots of folks out there towing older Libertys
