Transmission

Hello fellow Georgetownians,
We broke down on the way to
San Clemente Ca. on a recent RV trip, when all of a sudden I felt my 330ts lose power on the freeway.
It was obvious something was wrong so I pulled off onto the closest
off ramp. I could not get it out of gear and my rpm's were thru the roof!
Sounded like a transmission problem!
It was stuck in drive and could not move the gear selector.
Luckily we were close to a Ford dealer and had my coach towed there. Only problem is I'm just out of warranty! Only have 7,500 on my 2010 coach.
Has this happened too anybody out there? Any advise or guidance would be appreciated.
Thank You

Your transmission may have gone into limp mode. Could be a mechanical problem, could be an electrical problem, or could be the computer. I had a sensor short on my Chrysler Sebring which caused it to go into limp mode. Hopefully it will be something simple like that and not something broken internally.

You wouldn't think it would be to major with only 7500 miles on it. Let us know what happened to it.

Warranty

You must be just out of warranty, isn't it 5 years/60000 miles on the power train? Or is your chassis a 2009?

A trans can be cooked in a lot less miles than that if treated incorrectly, heat is a big killer. Did you buy this new, did you do all other service at the correct intervals, and have proof? If so I'd be talking to the higher-ups at Ford. In the meantime look at fordparts.com for remanufactured transmissions. You search by VIN for the correct part. Don't let the dealer rip you off if Ford won't help.
