Tucked in for winter

Well "George" is tucked in for winter. Sad but true. I had Total Value RV (Elkhart, IN) do some warranty work (replace steps, install vent covers, change to oil valve from oil plug, etc.) and winterize it based on April's recommendation to have them do the work. Overall, the work was mediocre but Jen from Total Value is a rock star!! She makes it right no matter what! Good night dear George! See you in the spring!

Oh, we need to name ours. I always name my vehicles, but didn't think about this one. Ours is winterized, for the exception of the residential fridge. Haven't put the cover on since we are headed to FL for Thanksgiving. I'll have to dewinterize for our trip and then do it all over when we get back...or maybe we'll just stay in FL.

Alparmmer,
You have the right idea, just stay in Florida. If you stay near the coast, it can get expensive. Inland the prices drop significantly. Last month we were at a campground in the Tampa Bay area that cost $675 for a month. Presently we are at another campground right next to Ocala National Forest that costs just $265 per month + electric. Huge difference in price when you get away from the coast, and no need to winterize anything.

We are originally from Clermont Florida. Moved up here (OH) a little over three years ago. We have a house down there that the in-laws are living in and we usually stay with them. Now that we have the coach, we'll park it at a campground and visit them.

Our favorite campground in FL is Hillsborough State Park. It's absolutely beautiful. Unfortunately you have to book way ahead of time and for our trip there was no availability.

Oh, and if you get a chance, kayak Alexander Springs. Crystal clear water with gators and all. Oh, and don't forget to swim with the manatees in Crystal River.
