TV above fireplace

Every once in awhile it will go in to slowly shuts down,and comes back on
Then it runs for a long period then does it again ?

Can you please be more specific/articulate on what is happening with either your fireplace or television?

TV shuts down and comes back on without touching anything Toshiba 40

What do you mean "slowly shuts down"?
Are you saying the picture gets smaller, dimmer or out of focus?
Do you still have sound?
Does your power light go of?
I had to replace my 40" toshiba TV the first week of ownership.

I had exactly the same thing happen with my Toshiba. Seemed to happen only in Antenna mode and low signal strength. Went round and round with my dealer. They couldn't duplicate it. So we recorded an occurrence on our iPhone and sent to them. They finally replaced it with a Visio from Best Buy. So far so good. I think the Toshiba's are junk!
