Under awning led lighting Strip

On my 1 year and a half Georgetown 377 the lighting strip under the awning on the slid out wall is malfunctioning. Since I am out of warranty I am thinking about replacing it myself. Anybody has done it before?

Lots of folks have replaced theirs and many have added that didn't have it to begin with.
Many buy multi-colored strips off the 'net and add controllers to change colors.
There are many posts about this.

I keep looking at it and I am wondering since I can't see any connectors, if I have to remove the slide topper. the only place I can see where the connector would be is behind the topper plate holding it the the slide wall.
