use of water pump and resetting the power shade

Hello Forum Members,

I will need to use onboard water tomorrow and have never used the pump before. Do I just turn the switch on from inside (after filling the tank), or is there another step or two?
Also, our power shade in the windshield would not retract this morning. We found the reset button, however there are no instructions on how to reset the shade. Can anyone help pass along this process? (no owners manual for the shade was located).
We have a 2012 Georgetown 350XL...

Regards,

Ken & Jodi

Just turn the switch on and you should hear your pump working and you should have water through out the coach.

Google "mcd rv shades" and go to their web site. I think you can find the installation manuals there. That little button you found in the upper left corner is to reprogram the shade but I can't remember the sequence of events. The shade issue has been addressed on this web site in the past but can't remember where. You might do a search for Georgetown windshield shade on this forum.

Thanks everyone! With the pump, I did hit the switch, however nothing went on. I will check the fuse box tomorrow. Does the generator have to run or can I run off of coach battery?

It should run off the coach batteries as it is 12v.

You may not hear anything when you turn the pump on. It's an 'on demand' pump meaning it only runs when you call for water by opening a tap, etc.

Make sure you open the hot water faucets till all the air is out of your water heater or you will be replacing the heating element. Flush toilet and turn on the shower and all outlets one by one till all air is out of the system. From there, all is automatic. Turn the pump off when traveling as you may develop a leak and fill the inside of your unit with water. NOT GOOD!

resetting the night shade

When ours only moved a little the service tech walked me through the reset process. While holding the reset button in have someone move the switch to move the shade down. The curtain should move down. Release reset button when the shade reaches the desired closure.
Hope that helps.
