Walk Thru Questions?

We pick up our G'town 280DS tomorrow! OMG... I so excited and just a bit nervous too.

We were told the tech would spend about 2 hours going through the coach and showing us how to do what we need to do. Hopefully, some of what we learned with the B+ will transfer and the learning curve won't be as steep this time. I assume all of the manuals for the appliances will be given to us but don't know if that includes specific manuals for the slide & leveling jacks....guess we'll find out!

Are there specific questions that we should ask? What about "but what if" questions?

Now..Spring better get here and stay or I'll be camping in the driveway. I don't know how long I can wait for that first trip!

Don't sign the dotted line until you are 100% satisfied!

Do a complete PDI and take as long as needed to satisfy yourself. Don't be rushed. If you don't understand something the tech tells you ask them to go over it again. If you are not sure of the PDI, I had on put on the forum to help others. Look up PDI. Remember no matter how good your dealer is, this is the last time you have leverage over them. Also FR provides a 2nd year warranty for minimal cost on most products they sell, and some dealers don't tell new owners about this option. If available it must be sent to FR within 10 days of acceptance.

Thanks, bailer! That's an excellent resource.

I've printed the list and will pack my flashlight!

If there are two of you there have one of you videotape the walk through and demonstrations by the tech. That way you can always go back and review what you might forget!

walk thru

As brand new owners, our salesman suggested a video taping. That has been a life saver as I got brain dead on how to lower and set up the awning and the tape saved me...

From my experiance owning 12 motorhomes over the years, the walk through in alot of cases is a joke as I knew more about the coach than they did..most of these guys have never used one...I was told that I could hook up a portable propane bbq to the propane tank.....just remove the filler cap and plug in the bbq...yep..that would have been a fun time. So, I hope you get a good knowledgeable walk through...after all for the money we spend we deserve nothing less.
