Warranty

The dash air quit working on my 2008 Georgetown. I took it to a Ford garage and they found that the evaporator thermal switch was bad. After the repair they checked and said that the repair is not covered by the Ford warranty. Ford sends the stripped chassis to Forest River along with the air conditioning parts and Forest River installs the air. Thus no warranty from Ford on the dash air. The Forest River warranty is only good for one year so I have to pay for the repair. Anybody else have this happen?

Find out who made the switch and go after it that way.

Unfortunately the best you could do is ask if FR will pay some of the bill. However even if you had taken it to an FR dealer for work you are still out of warranty so you would have paid them too. My guess is that the Ford guys probably treated you much better and handled the job much quicker than an RV dealer would have.
