Water filter housing

So just sitting here enjoying Colorado Springs and I here water. My water filter clear housing is spraying water everywhere. Is there a bypass? Where on the road can one purchase the housing. Yes I have a pressure reducer. It's a 2014 377 XL. Thanks

This is a VERY common occurrence. Get rid of it and replace it with a coupler. Use an external one. Otherwise you'll be doing this again down the road and you might not be around to hear the water.

Thanks didn't want to go all out on the road. Anyone know if the plastic housing is available at a local supplier?

Campingworld is south of you at exit 132B on I25.

If they can't help Lowe's or Home Depot will have the same style filter. You'll need tools and/or adapters to fit the PEX water line. They also have those.

The newer Georgetowns have a unique water filter made by WaterPur, whose parts can not be purchased at CW. Here is the link: WaterPur Filters

I swapped out my FR1 filter with a Camco EVO Camco Evo Premium Water Filter - Camco 40631 - Water Filtration - Camping World

This Camco filter housing will accept various filter elements that can be purchased in many places.

If it is not broken and has just come loose you can tighten it up and leave the wrench on so it Cannot come loose. I've had mine that way for 2 years.

Thanks everyone. I did try to get the plastic cylinder at CW but of coarse it's a FR special order. I went ahead and did the bypass. A couple of fittings and I'm rolling again. Thanks all nice to have info from this group when you really need it 👍

So, if you use the Camco style filter, do you have to do a by-pass of some kind or do you just plug it inline with the city water connection and let the [empty/filterless] plastic filter housing just fill with water??

I just replaced the original filter assembly with the Camco EVO assembly (mounted it in the same spot) and use the Camco filter element. The Camco housing will accept many brands of filter elements more easily available. I had to adapt the Pex water lines to the housing, the Camco uses water hose connectors. Also I purchased the Camco mounting bracket, to mount in the original spot. The Camco can also be used as an external filter, connected in-line to the outside water hose.

The FR-1 filter unit is by far the biggest design defect in FR products. If you install the cover without a filter you can break the locks that hold the cover in place. Then as soon as the water pressure comes up is unthreads itself. I too have left the wrench on the cover and run a string to a valve to keep it from opening by itself. Had it replaced under warranty with the other WaterPur that has an "o" ring but no complicated locks.

Look at first pic in post #2. 67 cent 1/2" coupler from Menards.

Plus the filter elements are special order or FR Dealer only. Not counting the $30 price tag. I can get a premium evo element from Amazon for $23
