Water pump ?
When using pump going down road or when boondocking do you just leave the pump switch on and let it cycle, or just turn it on only when needed? Thanks

Water pump ?
Leave it on. Not sure what you mean by cycle?? You should only hear pump when you create a water demand. If you're not running water somewhere and you hear your pump, you likely have a leak somewhere.

Not sure where I read it.....on this forum or another, but....
A couple in their motor home left the on board pump turned on as they headed out on the road for the day. Some hours later, they noticed water on the floor beneath their feet.
Turns out, somewhere along the way, they developed a break/leak in a water line, and because the pump had been left on, it continued pumping water from the onboard tank. Needless to say, a messy situation that leaked into the floors and basement compartments.
Personally, if we don't need running water, turn the pump on ONLY WHEN NEEDED.
Just my opinion.

If I in my camper I leave the switch on.....but if I am going away from the camper for extended time, I turn the pump switch off. Just in case a line or filter blows off. My 2 cents worth of education.

Thanks for the help on this. Sounds like I'll leave it running when going down road ir dry camped, shut off when going away.
I was turning it on only when needing to use.

Don't have a mh, but we never travel with the pump on unless we stop to use the bathroom. Just don't trust the plumbing, fixtures, etc. Could get a leak and not discover it until it was too late.

We installed a 5 gallon pressure tank so after it fills we turn off the pump going down the road and at night, but still have plenty of water for needed uses with pump off! Youroo!!

We leave ours on, that way it is always making ice. It sure would be nice to know that you have a problem before you really need your water

When traveling I leave the pump off until needed. The system charges it a few seconds to flush the toilet so why worry about it. If ever a fitting was to break, it has a better chance when being jostled down the road.

I only turn in the electric pump when needed.... Like others, I don't wanna leave the system pressurized and find a leak later.
