Water Tanks on Georgetown

I just read about the use of the city water/fresh water fillups and usage in the owners manual. However I have one extra item that I can;t find when or why I should use it, perhpas someone with knowledge can let me know. I have a filter system and a short hose (about 6 inches Long) also on the panel. Can anyone tell me what it is and what do and how to use it. Thanks

Vegasmailman, seems like you have located you winterize fill hose. If this hose goes to the waterpump then their should be a valve to open or close it. When winterizing the coach first blow all the water out of the lines then put this hose into your antifreeze bucket open the valve and turn on the pump to suck in the fluid. Make sure you first drain the hotwater tank and put it in bypass.

Hey 370

Why blow the lines out when you have that antifreeze connection to the pump? I was just going to drain the cold lines, drain the hot lines, bypass the hot water tank, then run every hot/cold tap in the unit(including the fridge water dispencer) until it ran antifreeze. I figured I didn't have to blow anythig as the pump was going to fill all the lines with antifreeze anyways. Am I missing something?

Sinkorswim, RV antifreeze is already cut with water. mixing it with what is remaining in your lines will weaken it's value allowing possible freezing. Blowing the lines out first will allow only antifreeze to enter. The lines hold allot of water in a coach remember you have hot and cold lines. Also just adding the antifreeze to the water lines will waste allot before flushing out the water. My 37 ft bath and 1/2 takes 5 gallons of antifreeze when the lines are dry.
