Weight on slide outs

Can anyone tell me if there are weight restrictions on slide-outs? We are replacing our dinette table with a different table and chairs and they are heavier. Just wondered if we should be concerned about that.

Thanks,

Deb & Pat

I doubt there is enough weight difference to make a difference.

That's not going to matter.

BUT........it surely does seem that we should be able to know how much weight DOES matter, doesn't it? I doubt anyone knows...............

I suspect that's going to be a fairly large number since most "super slides" like mine have the hide-a-bed sofa (heavy) and usually a dinette with under seat storage that people will load up with canned goods, pots and pans, soft drinks, water and so on which is way heavier than the table and chairs I have.

I bet that will be a surprisingly large number.

Yup.....unless the new table and chairs are made from granite....I doubt it'll be a concern.

You'd never get a limit posted from the manufacturer....they post less information about things that really matter.

You, a cyber phrenologist, wouldn't be able to figure that out?

Well lets see now.Ask the manufacture of the table and chairs your buying how much they weigh. Set a scale on the ground you stand on the scale (note the weight )and have your better half hand you a chair. Now what is the weight? You should be able to figure out how much the chair weighs.X that by 4. Set the corner of the table on the scale and balance as best you can. Call the manufacture and ask if it is ok to add the additional weight on the slide(while out of course)Walla

How many "fat" friends do you travel with? I had one friend who was an easy 450#, I cringed every time he came up the stairs pulling on the hand rail!

If it is intended to be a joke then leave a LOL or laughing symbol so others will know you meant it as a joke. And what does "get a grip" suppose to mean?

I'm into my 7th year full timing with 40-50k miles. Replaced the runners on my sliders two years ago. Looked at them when you posted and their cracked. I made a man cave out of the bunkhouse and I might be a little over weight. Keep checking those runners....

My 2011 Georgetown 327DS has electric slides using steel cables to run them in and out. During my PDI, the dealer told me that I shouldn't add more than 150lbs to the slide to avoid issues when changing its position. I don't know how accurate his statement is but I have two significantly different sized slides with the same opening mechanism for both. The large one has to weigh 2-3x the small one so I suspect that the dealer was just giving me a SWAG estimate of how much weight can be added.
