Small glass or plastic jars for paint, change, nuts, art supplies, jewelry, dirt, beans, Chinese herbs, nuts and bolts, electrical connectors, etc. Actually, an excellent idea, but some things may rattle.

Can the bottom drawer be switched with the top? If so then wine bottles with both drawers acting as one.
Just my WAG...

I'd have to say cans or jars, i know if i don't have jars/cans assorted in a certain way they will tip and roll all over during travel, looks like it does take up a but of room.

Don't know what they were thinking. Nothing that I found fits. I played with mine for a year, but finally I ran two shallow saw cuts on the front and rear, pushed the divider out and filled the slots with some ripped pieces from the removed material.
Now I have another totally useful drawer in the pantry.

Silver/plastic ware? Stand them up in there? Looks like it's by the kitchen.
