If you are using the preset pressure regulator that screws onto the water spicket in front of the hose, make sure the RV park does not already have one installed in front of yours. I have run into this are several RV parks.
I have never been to a park that has a "pressure regulator "at the hydrants, but I have been to lots that have a"anti-siphon valve" added to meet plumbing codes! Youroo! !

Yep, I'd be bumping that up.
I run ours between 50-55 p.s.i.
Concur. We are running at 65PSI and our shower is "residential" in quality (The EcoCamel has a LOT to do with that!) In addition, someone can turn on a faucet with no discernible loss in pressure.
At 38PSI, I'd be surprised if you could shower and run a faucet without ...issues

I have run into this on more than one occasion. One I remember that I mentioned it to the park and they told me that they had really high line pressure so the inline pressure regulators were installed so stop RV damage.

Well that would be a first for me too in 40+ years.
I have never seen water pressure regulators pre-installed at the hydrant.
I have been to a few campgrounds where upon arrival, the campground made you aware of high water pressure and offered to 'loan' you a regulator for a deposit if you didn't have one.
Like youroo, I've seen plenty of places with anti-siphon devices attached to the spigot but they are a different beast than a pressure regulator. Must be staying in the wrong parks.

Ok guys because you have never seen it does not mean I have not run into it. The deal is I installed my regulator and had squat for water pressure. Because, I installed my regulator in front of an existing regulator. Once I removed mine pressure was OK.

No one said that.
But along those same lines... just because you have, doesn't mean we have.
You seem to be implying this is a common situation and my ONLY point was I had not ever seen it.
Happy Camping!

On at least one or maybe two other occasions I ran into a pressure regulator already on the spicket. I thought that the previous RV at the site may have left it behind.

Are you sure it wasn't a backflow preventer and NOT a water regulator.
If the pressure is set too low, my tankless water heater won't kick in correctly as they need flow and pressure (at least the Atwood). I've had a couple of times where folks before me had forgotten to take theirs (and other things). Once was the good adjustable regulator that had quick connects added-I'm sure they kicked the self the next overnight.

I'm not saying you have not seen one--Stranger things have happened -- I have seen a LOT of backflow valves and they look a lot like pressure regulators.

Odd. For the sake of argument let's say that the pressure regulator on the pedestal was preset at 40PSI like most of the inexpensive ones are.
Let's say yours was identically set.
There should have been no pressure reduction or change. its how they work.
I'd check your pressure regulator and see what it is set at. You may need to replace it.
