What type of grill do you like?
Hi,
Looking to get a portable gas grill for the motorhome. Thinking of the Coleman. What type do you guys like and why?

x2. I prefer something I can use away from the trailer hence I've never used the RVQ hanging on the rail on the side of the trailer. I'm not so much concerned about the trailer walls as I am about the cleanliness of the underside of the awning.
The Weber is top quality (but pricey).

We have the WeberQ, as well. Love it, and the ability to move it where I want to cook.

Coleman RoadTrip - ours is over 15 years old, been to Europe and back with us and the only thing I have done is give the water pan a new coat of paint. Love the swappable grills and griddles!
Having said THAT I did get a nasty case of Grill Lust when a fellow camper fired up his Trager Tailgater (The legs fold up and it makes it VERY transportable.) We grilled steaks and I must say they were almost as good as steaks grilled in a Big Green Egg! My friend says his Trager is the bomb for smoking and slow roasting meat. Having a wood pellet fired grill does make for interesting wood choices - he says his apple wood roasted pork loin delicious - and it sounds like it would be!
But ya'll think the Weber is Pricey? HAH! Try $529 for the Trager!

I am a RVQ fan. I can cook what 2 of us need. I avoid greasy store bought burgers. Anything eles is fair game. Use campfire for burgers when semi-boon docking in Provincial Parks

Bob, I looked at a Traeger portable on my credit card points. Too small a cooking space so i declined the free grill. A large Tailgater is awesome but the 1/2 pickup has no more room!!

We're likely buying either a Weber Q2000-something or someone here mentioned another grill, the Pro-Iroda O-Grill. I'm not sure what the benefit of one vs. the other is- but I'll likely come down to one of those two.

The wife and I went to Cabelas with a pile of points I'd stashed to buy a grill. Fully intended to buy the Coleman roadtrip grill, but upon seeing it in person, I thought it was just too small. We left with this...............
Big Gas Grill | Camp Chef
We usually camp with others and eat together, so a bigger grill is better. We just like the flexibility that this offers. They also have 2 burner models that have folding legs and can still fit the grill box. The biggest downfall to it is weight, but it just hangs out in the garage of the toyhauler so it's not a big issue for me.

I just bought the brinkmann 2 burner over the weekend and waiting to try it out. Retrofitting it to fit on my rvq holder and rear bumper rack. It was $99 at hoe's depot. Feels like a real sturdy unit

Is just right for 2-4 people depending on what you cook.

WE bought a new TT a couple of years ago and the dealer gave us the RVQ II gas grill. We liked it so much that when we traded up and got the 5er we kept a hold of the RVQ even though we didn't have a rail to hang it from on the rig. I then ordered the table stand and a hose connector to attach it to a separate propane tank.
It operates on low pressure propane, cooks perfectly and is a doddle to clean. Ours look brand new despite lots of use over the last two seasons.

Initially, we bought a Weber Q-220 for RV use (4 years ago). We discovered it was about 3/4" too tall to go in our GT's stow-bins without taking the lid off. I got fed up of doing that every time, so we bought a Q-100, putting the 220 into service as our backyard BBQ. It replaced an unwieldy 4-burner behemoth that you could've landed a 737 on!
I wish CW had had Q-120's in stock, as I missed the fold-out side tables the 220 had. Other than a regulator failure, to be fixed for about $40, we're very satisfied with the Webers. I think we got bugs in the regulator when the BBQ was outside all winter. It will be stashed in the garage next time.
When all the family come, we just get the Q-100 out to supplement the 220.

We have both a Coleman Road Trip and a Camp Chef Big Gas Grill. The Road Trip is OK when it's just the two of us, but add even one grandchild and the BGG is required. It IS heavy, and won't fit in any of our basement compartments. so it sits between the bed and the back wall when traveling. The grill box is under the bed and the griddle fits in the basement. (We LOVE the griddle, but it weighs about 30 lb all by itself.) Weight is an issue, so if we may eventually have to consider a Pro 60 and leave the BGG home.

RVQ was great, used it on two campers about 6 years, never noticed and issues being close to the rv or the awning, but we are goofy the day we get home from a trip we wash the entire rig, roof, sides and awning,
We just got a new nitro fifth wheel and bought a Colman grill, used it once, not overly impressed but with a grill I think food tast better after the grill gets used a little.
Might have to rethink the washing every trip 45' just to much work
