Who has the most miles on their Georgetown?
I thought it would be interesting to see who has the oldest Georgetown as well as the MOST miles on the Odometer.
I will start.
I'm original owner and have a 2012 Georgetown XL model 378TS with 36,000 miles.

Only 11,000 miles on my 2014 351DS but plan on putting on many more.
Had 78,000 miles on my 1998 Georgetown that I traded in. Guess that doesn't count though.

Iggy, just finished a 3k trip to Mt Rushmore and Yellowstone. Still love our 2011 378 TS. We had lots of issues the first year. After that, smooth sailing. Love it.

WOW! With that many miles what have you done on the engine and drive train. Have you had any major issues on the engine or you just keep hauling down the road?

Yes same here. After getting rid of the initial 1st year problems I have had mostly clear sailing.
FYI in my 378TS I removed the bedroom door as it was getting in our way.

We bought it at 8 years old with 60,000 mikes. We got a Car Fax report from the dealer and it showed regular maintenance and no major repairs. We have put another 12k or so on it continuing the regular maintenace. The biggest thing we have done is spark plugs and wires last July.

I have a 2005 Georgetown with 43,000 miles. I have heard that the V10 has aluminum head issues when replacing spark plugs at 100,000 miles. Anybody had a problem?

This is not a problem when plugs are change dby a mechanic that know the engine.
My Ford mechanic told me that when they replace plugs they break the plug about 1/8 of a turn then soak the plug hole with something like WD-40 that over night penetrates down the threads to the spark plug tip and softens the carbon built up around the spark plug tip.
Now the spark plugs don't need to replaced until 100,000 miles so I don't worry.
I do add this stuff a few times a year when travelling at highway speed to reduce carbon build up on plugs and valves.
You can pick it up at Walmart or any truck stop.
Good stuff.
