Windshields and Bugs

A few weeks ago we took our maiden voyage in our new 2016 Georgetown 369XL. The unobstructed view going down the road is spectacular. However, 3/4 of the bug population between PA and VA and back somehow ended up on our windshield. Thus, blocking that spectacular view. On the way back we pulled into a rest stop and SOB Class A pulled in behind us. Out of curiosity, I walked over and looked at their windshield. They must have captured every bug we missed because theirs was covered also. I probably either offended the guy or gave him the impression I was totally insane, when I started laughing hysterically. Unfortunately, he didn't stick around long enough to tell him about my curiosity.

Needless to say, on our next trip to Lowes, we bought a squeegee, cleaning solution and extension rod. This should be on the top of everyone's "Gotta Have" list and I will never leave home without it again.

I got one after my first trip too!!! Glad to know I'm not the only one with the worlds best bug catcher!!

Ijust treated my windshield and the front with Rejex. Bugs wipe off with a damp paper towel. The Rejex did ok on the windshield but nothing beats Rainx.

I seen a class a with a long hose added to his out side shower. He was washing them off with warm water

Try using a wet dryer sheet, they come off very easy

I use 0000 steel wool to remove bugs from windshield ! It will not scratch glass at all! Use it dry!

Ditto on knocking off the bug population on my windshield. I bought all the tools and also look for the long windshield cleaners that are at some of the truck stops along the highways for cleanings while driving. I also found that two good costs of rainx help too.
