Winterize-Blowing Lines

Friends- I have a new 2018 Georgetown 36B5. I drained both waterheaters. Bypassed them. Drained low spot points. opened up grey and black tanks etc. Started blowing out my input lines through the city water entry and have not seen ANY air or water. I am baffled. I previously owned a sunseeker and had no problem winterizing it or the avenger that I owned before it. I simply dont see any air. I did remove the water filter but cupped my hand over it to restrict airflow. I increased from 30 olbs to 50 lbs of pressure (dont tell on me) but still nothing.?? I do sometimes get my my head screwed on crooked. Hope you guys can help me.

I had what might be the same problem on my Silverback -- until I flipped my water control lever to the "City Water" position.

Just to confirm......

You are using the “city water” connection for your air line, not the fresh water tank......and even worse, you’re not blowing into the black tank flush.

Not sure what you’re doing with your in line water filter “cupped my hand over it to restrict airflow”?

Why not re-install the water filter canister without a filter, and try again.

there have already been a couple of good thoughts.

you opened low point drains. did you close them?
do you have all faucets open at once or only one at a time?
city water valve is set to flow through as opposed to being set to fill fresh water tank? if you were blowing air into the fresh water tank it would just go out the overflow tube or drain valve if it was open.
the adapter you are using to connect to the city water inlet may have a shraeder valve on it (tire stem type valve). is the hose from the compressor opening this valve? (unscrew it from city water input and verify that it is passing the air).

opening black and gray tank valves would have no effect on the pressurized plumbing.

unscientific guess would be you are directing pressurized air into the fresh water tank and it is venting. just a guess.

welcome to the forum its a great place to get your questions answered. I don't know what you are not getting air thru the piping do you have the faucet open? Your rig is fitted with antifreeze suction line if I"m not mistaken why not use that. Air is ok but you always run the chance of small amounts of water being left behind. (I use air on my old class A for years with no problem) TT use only antifreeze much easier.

If you have used the city water inlet previously then the check valve is not installed incorrectly. I would reinstall the water filter canister and try again. Be sure all the valves in the WH are correct and you are not allowing the air to escape through the anode rod opening.

Same thing happened to me on my 2018 369xl this year. Just couldn't get system to pressurize. Rechecked all plugs, closed all faucets, recapped filter cartridge....stupid, but it finally realize the outside shower (sitting between my legs) had one faucet open, so all the air went there. My outside shower needs the hot and cold water handles turned inward towards each other to shut off, which is hard to remember when water isn't flowing. Anyway, felt stupid, but after closing that properly, the system held pressure and suddenly blew water clear like it's supposed to when walking thru each fixture. -Jim

My outside shower faucets are the same.....so I make lots of notes with a sharpie.....as you can see in my photo of my wet bay now winterized.

i see you employed the empty water bottle in the filter body trick. Looks like you need a longer water bottle though!

Follow Up- Purchasing a quick disconnect style blow plug for air compressor was a huge plus. Then opening and closing the outside shower correctly and screwing the water filter back on before blowing air...slid me home.
