Question wrinkling of fiberglass roof on the edges of 2010

Hi gang!

We just bought a 2010 337 and have had it a week. Love it!
I did notice on the roof as I was caulking it....all the way up each side the fiberglass is wavy from the edge in about 4 inches. Anyone else experiencing this.........doesn't seem to cause a problem as far as I can tell.

Also, what do you do for a satellite connection? They seem to only supply cable connections in the basement area. Does anyone know what the white coax cable is in the stereo and tv equipment area

Already done some mods..............made a door holder that keeps the door straight out instead of covering up half the beautiful living room window.
Going to make a shoe storage compartment just to the left as you enter.

I've just got to get that thermostat out of the electronics compartment. Does not register correctly at all. What a hair brain place to put it.

Well..........guess I will sign off and wait for any answers.

Later,

Kurt

Glenn, he posted in the Georgetown forum, so I'm assuming a Georgetown 337 motorhome.

Kurt.......

First off........welcome aboard.

You might want to improve your signature to include the specifics of your rig for future communications, as details are always helpful when we assist.

Can you post pictures of the fiberglass defect you're talking about?

As far as satellite connections..........some rigs have a raw coax termination located in a vent stack on the roof just for the possibility of installing a rooftop satellite. Aside from that, you can connect your satellite coax from a ground dish onto the coax termination you mention in the basement, and the other end is this coax you mention in the stereo/tv equipment area.

pictures won't show anything...........only about a quarter inch high and four to six inches in length over and over again for the full length.

the cable connections in the basement are just that for CABLE TV. won't work with satellite dish due to inline splitters.

oh............yes 2010 337 GEORGETOWN MOTORHOME.

The bumps are harmless, if they crack is when you get trouble. Caused by body movement, most likely to crack in the future. I doubt if still has warranty coverage. I'd use self leveling Dicor sealant. Lots have had this problem in the past.

My 2012 360 came with wrinkles for about 3 ft along the rear edge on the drivers side. Looks to me its due to excess width of the fg material along that edge that was forced to buckle during installation. Nothing to worry about unless it develops cracks. Same thing can happen with a rubber roof. Excess material will buckle. If it isn't leaking just check it for cracks now and then and apply the correct sealant if signs of thin cracks show up.

As for sat connection if you get a ground mount dish just plug it into the cable connection in the storage compartment and turn you splitter to cable. The on the inside just unplug the coax from the Out from Splitter and plug that end into sat box. Unless you are using a standard dish(a dish on a try pod that you find the sats) you can use a 722 DVR and place the receiver in that compartment and you will have standard dish to both TV's. This is what I used until I have a sat system installed. The remote worked from the bedroom because it is an IR remote.

Have a 2014 GT 335DS that had wrinkles over the pass window on top. FR authorized a radius roof repair where pre-bent aluminum pieces are screwed over the fiberglass roof edges. The wrong sealant was used the first and it leaked like a drive. Correct one was used the second time but now leaks through the a/c vents behind the front seats. Anyone else have this repair done? Is yours working correctly? Hoping that no more damage is happening elsewhere. Water seems to be coming between the ceiling and wood overpayment above it. Have, had a new seal installed on the front a/c.

roof ripples

jerry,

mine already has the radius sides on it. mine is not leaking per say although I see some stains on the upper front vinyl area about 1 inch wide. I am sure its from neglecting looking at it soon enough. don't think it is leaking now. I was up on the roof and caulked all the way down both sides ..............ends were done previous by dealer that we bought our 2110 from. may need to check your roof air from inside by removing the grill and make sure the bolts have snugged the unit down to the roof. don't over do it though.
