You should or may have an outside light above the front door and small entry lights inside the coach with switches on the left side of your inside step well. The outside steps only light up when the entry lights are on.

They are not a joke

Our Puma has a separate switch to turn on the step light....it is independent of the outside wall light but whether it is independent or not, if yours does not work may it is just a bad bulb.

The step light is powered from the step switch at the entrance. If this switch is on and the steps are deployed the light will illuminate. You may have a burned out bulb or an electrcal wiring issue. Typically when set up at camp site the step switch is set to off so the steps stay out when the entrance door is closed. But then the light is off also.

Step light only functions when the step switch is turned on and you open the door. The steps deploy and light stays on, closed the door the steps retract and light goes off. Turn step switch off when steps are deployed, they stay out, the light turns off as well. The step lamp is not connected to the porch light switch on the Georgetown units and doesn't have a seperate switch for individual use.

The yellow light on our Georgetown is wired exactly the way Charlie describes. Seems like a crazy way to have it but.........Forest River seems to enjoy messing with our minds between their models and years of rigs!

Hi Kenandterry, Jeff here from the rally. Hope the trip home went well. The step light thing is crazy cause why would you need this on in the day time. Guess someone figured the same thing on my coach 2007.

Ours has a separate switch on the control panel labeled step light.

You should find a blue wire that is not connected if you look under your steps. This wire is called the "step light switch". If you want the step light to come on with your porch light, you need to connect the above wire to the porch light circuit. On my coach, it was fairly easy to feed a line from behind the porch light switch to the blue wire on the step. Connect the wire to the switched output of the porch light and to the blue wire. This wire being unconnected does not seem to be that unusual. Once you make this modification, you can show everyone that your coach is better than theirs ( ie. it's the deluxe version).
