Camping 2018

First trip booked to the Pinery Prov park. Last week in May, can't wait.

How is that park? My wife and I have been looking to check it out. We have a 2 year old. We also have a Rockwood Roo 233s. Is there a lot of nice sites?

It’s huge and we didn’t have a chance to check very much of it out. I can’t even remember what site we were in except that it was unserviced and close to the dunes. We were only there 2 nights and spent the whole day enjoying the beach and the water. We would definitely go back though and I know many others who absolutely love the place too. There seems to be lots to do an explore around there!

I grew up in SE Michigan and spent my childhood camping at the Pinery. I haven't been back in three or four years, but it has always been an amazing place.

There are some great (relatively short and easy) hikes, a massive beach with perfect sand, and a very friendly staff. It gets really busy during May 24 holiday, and american Memorial Day weekends, but the part is really big and can handle it.

The Roo is perfect for this campground. Lots of back-in sites, but there is plenty of room. Most of the sites are fairly private, and the bathrooms are clean.

If you are in interested in other camping in southern Ontario, there are a number of excellent campgrounds - we like MacGregor Point (https://www.ontarioparks.com/park/macgregorpoint) better than the Pinery for example. Even a little further north are couple more great options like Cape Croker (https://www.capecrokerpark.com/) or Bruce Peninsula NP (Camping - Bruce Peninsula National Park).

Have a great time!

Make sure you check site descriptions. They were open later than many others and I was going to go but the loop that was open had poison ivy at every site
