Camping – Rving Eastern and Central Ontario

Camping – Rving Eastern and Central Ontario
Sharbot Lake, Bon Echo, Murphy’s Point, Driftwood, Algonquin and Killbear
Provincial Parks

2019 found Sindee, Ranger and I exploring Eastern and Central Ontario in our17 Ram Copper Head and Flagstaff 26RBWS.

Ontario is a huge province and we are blessed with a wonderful provincial park system. Few of us have had the opportunity to visit them all, but 2019 found us trying to check off a few more, while revisiting other parks we hadn’t been to decades – some only recalled from distant childhood memories.

Spring of 2019 was exceptionally wet and cold in Ontario – but when we headed out in the last week of June on our three week vacation, it was as is someone threw the switch on summer – the weather warmed and the sun shone as we headed east.

Drfitwood was one of the new parks we visited. Located North of Deep River on the Ottawa River with a view of Quebec’s Laurentain Mountains, the park’s remoteness (and lack of hydro (electricity)) brought a welcome calm and solitude to the fantastic susnsets found here. Other highlights of the trip included kayaking Bon Echo’s Mazinaw Rock and Algonquin’s attractions, trails and wildlife.

We've posted a video of the trip here:

The Other provincial parks visited were: Sharbot Lake, Murphy’s Point and (one of our favorites) Killbear.

If visiting this part of Ontario is of interest, hopefully the video will provide some insights into what you can expect.
