Eggs Avian Flu and the border.

After making the trip around the Canadian side of Lake Superior. We crossed over into the U.S. at Sault Ste Marie into Michigan. The U.S. customs officer asked if the trailer was open. When he came back out he had the eggs out of our frig. I guess the regulations have now change and you cannot take uncooked chicken products across. He gave us a copy of the new regs and informed us Canada is doing the same.

That's because of the avian influenza going on in the States right now and also in western Ontario.

Yup. we encountered the same thing last month. We had to leave eggs in the freezer at the border for disposal (or possibly after hours customs personnel eggs benedict). They also asked about chicken as well.
