Best memories of camping in fall is Thanksgiving at Balsam Lake with my 2 Uncles, all cousins, and my Grandmother who was 75 and bought a Travel Trailer to Vacation in. We had Turkey cooked on the fire is a home built oven and all the fixings. I was 7 years old.

Just camped at Pinery last weekend (Holloween) and maybe 25 sites full. The comfort station has water so you can fill up your tank and showers & washroom nice and comfy. The Yurts were pretty much all occupied on Friday & Saturday nights. Camped at Mew lake last October after Thanksgiving and was great although we had 2-3 inches of snow the second week but looked fantastic.

Fall camping

Interesting topic wish I had found it sooner. Put me in mind of Wheatley Provincial Park which is open until the day after Thanksgiving the park is filled to capacity and Halloween is also celebrated on the Thanksgiving weekend it’s a very popular event. A few years back the officials in charge of Provincial Parks decided to change the closing date of Wheatley to the end of September. WOW, did this cause a major case of anger!!! The public outcry was so loud they left it open until Thanksgiving and never ever brought this idea up again. Too funny I think to this day the Provincial Parks people just whisper Wheatley.
